Ekonomiska’14 will witness the following set of events: FORMAL EVENTS: 1. CASE STUDY COMPETITION: Case study competition is intended to make participants work in a team to solve a real life problem under tight timelines and present their recommendations to a panel of judges comprising of academics and business professionals. 2. DEBATE This event gives the participant the opportunity to present their views on a topic and fighting it out for their ideology. The participants would debate on the issue of whether the populist schemes such as the Food Security Bill contributes to nation’s development or not. 3. THE ARTHASHASTRI The event has many interesting and innovative levels and rounds, a completely offbeat and interesting way to judge ‘the Economist’ in the participants. 4. THE RECRUITERS It is an HR (human resource management) event. Participants will be required to form groups and present a mock panel interview representing the panellists and the candidates for the interview. 5. THE BAILOUT This event is aimed at discovering the hidden economist in the participants by putting them across various policy making decisions. 6. EMOTIONOMICS This event involves provision of a common topic and participants will have to analyse and put forward their views representing various sections of the society. INFORMAL EVENTS: 1. AD MADS This event is aimed at enabling the participants to showcase their creative punch in advertising a wide range of products in a comical manner and shoot the same. 2. TREASURE HUNT: This is a very popular fun event amongst the youth wherein there are a series of clues and hints to reach a final destination. The participants weave their ways through the hints to reach the “treasure”. 3. THE MAUDLIN ECONOMIST The participants are required to showcase their writing skills and acquired knowledge by writing an article on the following: If an economist was to write a love letter or a suicide note.
